Todo lo Que Dejaron, 2017

"In the installation Todo Lo Que Dejaron: (Everything Left Behind:), Herrera uses printmaking to discuss the violent destruction of human identity caused by systemic forces of oppression. His prints symbolically reveal how the acid etched line and gashes of carved wood mimic the burnt and wounded flesh of political prisoners. This exhibition emphasizes the artist's responsibilities in our current political climate to produce a dialogue of critical reflection and hope."
